I had the amazing opportunity to visit a family friends’ gorgeous ranch house in Montana last week and I can’t stop thinking about the happy energy that surrounds that home. It was honeysuckle serene with views for miles of the rolling mountains, wild flowers and the Madison River. Fly fisherman, deer, horses, bison, and elk, cool breezes and twinkling aspens made the whole experience memorable. I decided to paint the view from one of the windows in the dining room where I could see the elevation changes with the river below. I don’t normally paint scenery so it’s certainly not perfect but was a welcomed challenge. A gift to an incredible kind family who have recently lost a very special brother, brother-in-law, son, uncle, and friend, I pray it gives them comfort in their time of grief and they enjoy it for years to come.
