We are moving so I’ve been packing for days and during my cathartic purging of all things unwanted, I found my high school art portfolio. It made me so happy to see my work after so many years. I clearly had a love for Carol Alt haha! and I loved drawing supermodels from magazine ads. Growing up in Texas, I entered the Rodeo Art contest every year and these are two of my high school entries. As I embark upon this creative journey, I realize now that I was always an artist and now that I am doing it professionally I know I am living my bliss.. finally! It took a very long time for me to own it but now that I have I am truly grateful for all of the life experiences that got me to this place. I wasn’t ready before so to anyone out there who thinks you’re too old to take a chance and do what makes you happy professionally, I will happily be your example.
